Skien Terminal
Skien Port Terminal is an industrial terminal equipped for handling general cargo, dry bulk and project cargo, as well as heavy lifting and a number of specialist functions. The terminal offers warehouse rental and outdoor storage to companies that require both transports and logistics capacities.
Tenants and premises
2019 saw the construction of a 2 000 m² SIT hall (Site Integration Test Hall) at Skien Port Terminal. The hall has a casing height of 27.5 m and can handle loads up to 10 tons per m2. The premises are currently leased to Agility Subsea Fabrication.
With three warehouses and two large tents, there is a total of 12 500 m2 of insulated indoor storage let out to various companies. One of the larger tenants is Colliflow, a third-party logistics provider, which, among other things, operates a state-of-the-art automated warehouse solution called AutoStore.
50 000 m² of available outdoor area enables us to meet most outdoor storage needs.
The Port of Grenland has also arranged for Stena Recycling and Statnett to establish premises close to Skien Port Terminal.
Waste management
The waste reception facilities have recycling containers for small quantities of hazardous waste, residual waste and paper. The containers are adapted to local needs and the number of ships at berth. All vessels are required to give advance notification of waste online via SafeSeaNet Norway before arrival. Larger quantities of waste or oil waste, sewage, etc. cannot be delivered at the reception facilities, and must be booked through an agent or directly to the recycling company Norsk Gjenvinning Industri tel. +47 987 09700.
Here is our document on the handling of ship-generated waste at Skien Terminal.
