Herøya Terminal
Herøya Terminal is centrally located within Herøya Industrial Park in Porsgrunn, one of Norway’s leading industrial clusters.
The terminal includes three quays: Deepwater Quay, Crane Quay and Tinfos Quay – all serving the logistical needs of nearby industrial operations.
Deepwater Quay
With a quay length of 175 metres and a depth of 9.7 metres, this is the main terminal for receiving raw materials for Yara Norway. Yara is also responsible for day-to-day operations at the facility.
The quay has an adjacent outdoor area of approximately 20,000 m², used by Eramet Norway for raw material storage.
Crane Quay
With a quay length of 230 metres and a depth of 6.7 metres, Port of Grenland’s Crane Quay is used by Eramet Norway for receiving raw materials and supporting the production of manganese alloys. The quay also includes 1,750 m² of indoor storage capacity.
Tinfos Quay
Tinfos Quay is 150 metres long and 6.7 metres deep, and currently serves as Port of Grenland’s main terminal for timber exports.
Crane Quay and Tinfos Quay share an outdoor area of approximately 10,000 m², used for cargo handling and temporary storage.
Waste management
At Deepwater Quay and Tinfos Qay Port of Grenland provides waste reception facilities with containers for small volumes of hazardous waste, residual waste, and paper. The facilities are scaled to local needs and adjusted to the number of vessels at berth.
All vessels must register waste deliveries in advance via SafeSeaNet Norway.
For larger volumes – including oil waste, sewage or greywater – services must be arranged through a shipping agent or directly with Norsk Gjenvinning Industri, tel. +47 987 09 700.

Noise
We work continuously to reduce noise from our operations, and all vessels and operators are expected to follow local noise regulations.

Opening hours
Herøya Terminal is open daily from 06:00 to 23:00.
