It provides a central intermodal hub directly connected to the rail and road network, with facilities for RoRo (roll-on\/roll-off) and LoLo (lift-on\/lift-off) for vessels heading to\/coming from Europe. It has \u2018main port\u2019 status and is linked to the national rail network by a side track from the Brevik Line.
